Flooring

Old floors lifted and taken away, subfloor put right, and new flooring laid to a clean, level finish.

Flooring

Most of our flooring jobs start the same way: the old floor comes up completely and is redone with new. Abd and Sons Construction lifts existing carpet, laminate, vinyl or boards, sorts out the subfloor, and lays new flooring across single rooms or whole ground floors.

A proper job from the subfloor up

A floor is only as good as what it sits on. We check for movement, damp and level, fit new boarding or self-levelling compound where needed, and lay the correct underlay before the finished floor goes down. Skirting and thresholds are refitted or replaced for a tidy edge.

  • Lift and remove existing floor coverings
  • Subfloor repair, boarding and levelling
  • Damp-proof membrane and acoustic underlay
  • Laminate, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and engineered wood
  • Tiled floors and transitions between rooms
  • Skirting, beading and threshold trims

Kitchens, halls and living areas

Wood-effect plank flooring running through a kitchen, hall and living room ties a house together and is hard-wearing enough for busy family use. We set out the boards so the pattern runs the right way and the joins fall in the right places.

FAQs

Common questions

Can you fit flooring I have already bought?

Yes. We fit customer-supplied flooring regularly, and can also supply it if you would rather keep everything with one contractor.

Do I need to clear the room first?

It helps if you can move small furniture and belongings. We can shift heavier items as part of the job — just let us know in advance.

Can you deal with a squeaky or uneven old floor?

Yes. Fixing movement, screwing down loose boards and levelling dips is part of preparing the subfloor before the new floor goes down.
